This course was first introduced in 2012. The course is aimed
at
string enthusiasts of an intermediate level. Your tutor will
provide quality music coaching coupled with enjoyment as you learn and
progress on your chosen instrument. The course will join with wind
musicians in the middle of the week to create a chamber orchestra
culminating with a concert at the end of the week in Cambridge.We welcome both adults and children on this course and will provide a relaxed and friendly environment during your stay. Our excellent team of tutors will assist with instrumental technique and give advice on performance development. The course will allow you opportunities to play a popular and varied selection of music. It is our aim that students leave the course having gained an insight into performance skills and string technique. This will be an enjoyable course for all string players whatever your age. By the end of the course you will have learned a series of musical skills which you will be able to apply to your continued instrumental studies.
This is a rare opportunity to sharpen your playing skills. You will enjoy making music on the course and will produce exciting result by the end of the course. A concert will be held in Cambridge on Friday 16th August for family and friends.
A welcome meeting will begin at 10.00am on Monday 12th August and rehearsals will commence at 11.00am. A detailed schedule will be given on arrival at the course.

Jayne Robinson - Course Tutor
Following study at the Royal Collage of Music with Felix Kok and Tessa Khambatta, Jayne joined the English National Opera Orchestra working there until 2000. She then moved to Wales to spend more time with her two sons. Jayne has also worked the the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic and the Welsh Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble Cymru.Jayne enjoys working with youth orchestras and has tutored Four Counties, North Wales, North Powys and Wrexham. She has taught violin and viola extensively in mid and north Wales, as a peripatetic teacher and privately at home. She currently teaches in Powys schools, Shrewsbury School and Packwood Haugh School. Jayne has many private pupils and small ensembles and continues to perform in orchestras and chamber music ensembles whenever possible.
